Who are we ?

As many Société de Bienfaisance around the world, the « Société Française de Bienfaisance aux Pays-Bas » was created at the end of the 19th century, in 1883.

In the Netherlands, as in many other countries, the aim was to support French compatriots in needs outside of France. Nowadays, the main activity is still to support French citizens.

As non-profit organization, the Society is run by volunteers only. The Society has no political, religious nor philosophical affiliation. The « Société Française de Bienfaisance » is recognized as being of public utility in the Netherlands (ANBI Status, RSIN 815789014).

How we operate

The organization acts on a case-by-case basis, to provide material or financial support, within the organization financial limits. The organization is fully independent and can act as a complement to the Social Service of the Consulat Général de France. All cases treated by the « Société Française de Bienfaisance » have been provided to us by the  Social Service of the Consulat Général de France in Amsterdam.
